How it works

Snap it. Check it. Forget about it.

Otis does the reading so you don't have to keep the dates in your head.

  1. 1

    Add a document

Scan the paper, pick a photo, open a PDF from Files, or share it straight from Mail. No paper? Just add the date.

  2. 2

    Otis reads it

He finds who it's from, the policy number, when it renews and what it costs, and highlights each fact on the page so a misread is easy to spot.

  3. 3

    You get a nudge

Reminders arrive in good time to shop around, then again as the day gets close. Mark it done and Otis lines up next year's.

Your documents

A wallet for the boring stuff.

Every document becomes a colour card, grouped by car, home and ID. Flip to the timeline to see the year ahead month by month, or search for anything you've saved.

  • Today shows just the one thing due next
  • Each card shows the days left at a glance
  • The original pages stay with the document

Reminders

Reminders that know the document.

A passport needs months of warning. An MOT needs a few weeks. Insurance is cheapest when you shop around about a month out. Otis times each reminder to suit, and keeps the details off your lock screen.

Ask Otis

Just ask.

“What's my excess?” “When does my passport expire?” “How much do I spend on insurance a year?” Otis answers from your own documents and shows you where he found it. Ask in the app, or ask Siri.

What's due next? When is my MOT? What's the Golf's policy number?
Ask Otis answering how much is spent on insurance a year: £654.00, broken down by policy

Money Beta

See what your bills come to.

Otis adds up the prices on your documents into a month-by-month view, so a big renewal never catches you out. It shows what to set aside, what paying monthly really costs, and which renewals are worth comparing.

  • Only uses prices from your documents, never guesses
  • Monthly, quarterly or once a year

Cars, homes and people

Every car, home and person, sorted.

Otis spots the registration, postcode or name on each document and gathers them together: the car's MOT, tax and insurance; the home's boiler and energy; each person's passport and licence. It even tells you what's missing.

  • Room for the whole family
  • Nicknames, so you can ask about “Sam's passport”

Private by design

Your passport is nobody else's business.

Otis was built to keep your documents on your iPhone and nowhere else. There's no account to make, and your documents never go to a server.

  • Read on your device. Apple Intelligence reads documents right on your iPhone. On phones without it, Otis still reads them on-device.
  • Locked with Face ID. Add a passport or licence and Otis offers to lock itself, even in the app switcher.
  • Quiet notifications. Reminders show the document and date, never your policy or passport number.
  • No ads, nothing sold. Your documents are never collected. Any usage data is private and only used to make Otis better.

Questions

Good to know

What kinds of documents can Otis read?

Anything with a date that matters: car and home insurance, MOT certificates, vehicle tax, breakdown cover, boiler services, energy tariffs, phone and broadband contracts, warranties, passports and driving licences. If Otis can't read something, you can type the details or just add the date.

Does it need Apple Intelligence?

No. Apple Intelligence makes reading and answering smarter, but everything works without it. Passports and driving licences are read the same way on every iPhone.

Where are my documents stored?

Only on your device, with iOS data protection, so they're encrypted whenever your iPhone is locked. There's no account, and your documents are never uploaded.

What happens when I mark something done?

Things that renew every year, like insurance or an MOT, move on to next year's date. Contracts and ID wait for you to add the new one. You can always change the date yourself.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 27 or later. Otis makes room for itself on any screen, from one hand on the bus to iPhone Duo unfolded or iPad side by side, and you stay where you were when you fold or resize.

When can I get it?

Otis is in testing now and coming soon to the App Store.
